A magistrate court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has ordered the remand of Akintunde Ojuawo, 43, who is reasonably suspected to have committed the murder of Rotimi Oluwasegun Olajide.
According to the police prosecutor, Inspector Bamgbade Olumide, the defendant committed the offence in Ado-Ekiti on July 31, 2021.
Inspector Olumide, yesterday told the court that there was probable cause to order the remand of the defendant at the correctional centre for an alleged murder.
According to the prosecutor, the offence is punishable under Section 319 of the criminal code Cap C16 Laws of Ekiti State 2012, within the Ado-Ekiti Magisterial District.
Prosecutor Olumide said he would duplicate the case file and send it to the Director of Public Prosecutor, DPP, for legal advice.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olubunmi Bamidele, ordered the remand of the suspect at the correctional facility and adjourned the case until September 8, 2021.
