The North East Development Commission in collaboration with the Yobe State government has trained 400 persons on environmental protection in the state.
The state coordinator of the North East North Development Commission, Professor Ali Ibrahim Abbas, while speaking to newsmen at the training centre at the Yobe State University, Damaturu, said 400 persons were selected across the state.

He said the beneficiaries were trained on four programmes; recycling and waste management collection, watershed and management for artisans and self-help groups, fabrication of energy efficiency stove and production as well as renewable energy to protect the environment.
He added that the training would help the people to properly and sustainably manage their environment.
