About 400 exhibitors with 50,000 products are expected to participate in the 16th Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF) which will kick off on Wednesday.
The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Dr Al-Mujtaba Abubakar, in a statement on Tuesday, said already businesses within and outside Nigeria were converging on Abuja in readiness for the fair.
Themed “Exploring Opportunities of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)”, the fair will run from September 30 to October 9, 2021, Abubakar said.
The Director-General of ACCI, Victoria Akai, who noted that the theme of this year’s AITF was apt, said business cooperation among countries would be in the spirit of AfCFTA and would deepen economic exchange and enhance business prosperity among them.
Akai said, “Everything has been put in place, including adherence to COVID-19 protocols, for everyone that will participate in the fair.
“With over 24,000 exhibitors and close to 1,000,000 visitors in the 15 series of staging the fair, it is no wonder the fair has already become a ‘must-see’ for those looking for business success in Nigeria, and Abuja in particular.
