Forty students have bagged first class degrees as Federal University Dutsinma, Katsina holds combined 2nd and 3rd convocation.

About 500 students are expected to graduate.

Speaking at a pre-convocation press conference, the Ag. Vice chancellor Prof. Armayau Bichi said 17 of the first class category whom have completed their mandatory National Youth Service will be awarded with an automatic employment letters at the event.

According to him, the remaining 23 will get theirs as soon as they complete the service year noting that ‘ it is a policy of the university to offer automatic employment to First class students’

He said, to boost teaching and learning about 250 academic staff and 200 non academic have been employed adding that over 250 others who were unjustifiable sacked by previous vice chancellor have been recalled.

‘ We have set up freedom of information and Anti corruption / transparency desks in line with government policies of doing everything in the open, feel free to reach out for any issue and report any wrong doing as well ‘ he said

He said, Due to local demand, courses in Hausa, Lirary science, Arabic and Islamic studies were introduce just as Engineering and Law degrees takes off next year.

‘ Our Post Graduate school is taking up in the next two weeks, the National University Commission have increased our admission quota from less than 1000 to 4,000. This year we are admitting 3500 students’ he said
