Police prosecutor ASP Jonathan Garba told the court that the father of the three victims, one Aroh Chinedu, reported to the Suleja police ‘B’ division, that his wife who operates a business inside the IBB Market, Suleja, had discovered that their three children were missing upon returning home on February 27.
He further explained that the children – Chidozie Aroh, 9, Chidubem Aroh, 6, and Chidinma Aroh, 3, were later found dead and naked, inside a plastic water tank behind their apartment, adding that police swung into action which led to the arrest of the suspects.
While one of the suspects was described as a close family friend who has direct access to the victims’ home, two others were described as their neighbours and the last a security guard in an apartment behind their own.
All the four accused persons have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate Aisha Zakari adjourned the matter to April 22, for hearing.
