The police in Edo State have said four of their officers have been arrested for allegedly brutalising two motorists in Benin City, the state capital.
It was gathered that the incident happened at the PZ area on the Benin-Sapele road on Wednesday.

The assault, captured in a video posted on social media, showed the officers brutalising the victims over issues of extortion.
The police spokesperson in Edo State, Kontongs Bello, told Daily Trust that the officers have been arrested.
He said the police attention was drawn to the viral video capturing the unprofessional conduct of the officers at PZ area along Benin-Sapele road, Benin city.
“The team, made up of an inspector and three other officers who were involved in the unprofessional conduct and incivility against two young men as seen in the viral video, have been identified, arrested and subsequently defaulted,” he said.
He said the Commissioner of Police has ordered a full-scale investigation into the matter, assuring that the outcome of the probe would be made public.
He advised the public to always report unwholesome or unprofessional conduct of personnel of the command.
