Four Nigerian women have been named among 18 finalists for the prestigious 2024 Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) Awards slated for November 29 in Cape Town, South Africa.
According to a press statement released by the AWIEF, the Nigerian finalists include Ifeoma Okonkwo of Ifgreen Industries & Investment, nominated for the Agri Entrepreneur Award, while Christiana Okere of myStash has been shortlisted in the tech entrepreneur category.
The social entrepreneur award category had Temitope Mayegun of Avilla Naturalle and Osen Iyahen, founder of Optimal Greening Foundation.
The finalists, according to the statement, were selected from a diverse group of talented women founders and business owners across the continent “making waves across industries, empowering communities and setting new benchmarks in entrepreneurship.”

“The winners of the 2024 AWIEF Awards will be announced at the ceremony on November 29, 2024 during the conference in Cape Town, South Africa. The event promises to be a night of inspiration, celebration and testament to the transformative power of women-led businesses in Africa,” the statement noted.
