Detectives from the Ilasan Police Station of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested four robbery suspects, John Ifeanyi (24), Suleman Musa (27), Victor Effiong (30) and Bonaventure Oscar (24), who used to rob victims of their belongings with a wood carved in the form of a gun.
It was learnt that they threatened to shoot whoever refused to hand over their belongings at a street corner in the Lekki-Ajah area of the state.
When asked why they used the carved wood to rob, they said, “Fear is the only thing that unlocks anyone’s wallet.”
The leader of the gang, John Ifeanyi, told his interrogators that no one wanted to know if what was pointed at them was really a gun or not.

He said, “They will just hand over their belongings and take to their heels.
Lagos State police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed their arrest on his X handle, said it was sequel to information that a gang of four men robbed two victims of their possessions.
He said, “The officers raced to the scene and arrested the suspects. The phones of the victims were recovered from them, as well as one locally made wooden pistol.
