Gunmen have abducted a four-month-old baby in Akwa Ibom State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred around 3am last Saturday when two armed men invaded the family’s residence in Enen-Atai village, Itu LGA of the state and abducted the baby at gunpoint.
Mr and Mrs Udeme Eyo, parents of the baby, in an interview with newsmen yesterday appealed to security agencies to assist in the recovery of their child.
Narrating the traumatic experience, Mr Eyo described how the assailants barged into their bedroom, brandishing guns and machetes, and demanded their son.

He said despite his attempts to intervene, the armed men overpowered him, seized the baby from his screaming wife, and fled the scene in a waiting car parked nearby.
Mr Eyo expressed his anguish over the ordeal, particularly as his wife was still recovering from the loss of their first child at a similar age.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Timfon John, confirmed the incident, stating that efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators and reunite the child with his family.
