At least four serving ministers in the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Executive Council (FEC) will attend the 16th edition of the Africa International Housing Show (AIHS).

The ministers: Babatunde Fashola (Works and Housing), Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub (State for Works and Housing), Mohammed Bello (FCT) and Adeleke Mamora (Science and Technology), will grace the event.

In a statement, the Coordinator of the event, Festus Adebayo, said the ministers were expected to join invited foreign ministers to deliberate on housing development and prosperity on the African continent.

He explained that the conference would bring together stakeholders in the housing sector, as well as home based and international speakers, to dialogue the housing challenges in the country and agree on solutions to the growing housing deficit.

According to Adebayo, the event is anticipated to draw over 15,000 attendees from over 15 nations with “no less than 34 speakers from different walks of life to discuss issues revolving around the theme of the event: ‘Housing for All: The Role of Government in Creating an Effective Enabling Environment’.”

Additionally, a climate change session with an emphasis on green housing, exhibitions, a proptech session, financing discussions, deal room meetings and other activities will be part of the event.

The Vice President, Prof Yemi Osibanjo, is expected to declare the event open, while Fashola will be the chief host.

The 16th AIHS will be held between July 25 and 28, 2022, at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
