Four persons were reportedly killed during a fight between rival cult groups in Benin, Edo State.
It was gathered that a fight broke out between the cult groups on Monday over undisclosed issues, leading to the death of four people.
Daily Trust learnt that three of the victims were killed at different locations in Ogida axis, while the fourth person was shot dead at Ugbor area.
A witness said the first victim at Ogida was killed by a rival cult group after eating a plate of pepper soup at a joint, adding that they were killed between 9pm and 10pm yesterday.
The second victim was said to have been killed in his bedroom, when unidentified gunmen shot him on the head through the window.
The third victim was allegedly chased by his attackers and killed with an axe.
It was gathered that the fourth victim was said to be in company of his friend when his assailants shot him from the back severally.
“I learnt that the young man was with one of his friend when some people attacked him. His friend was said to have run into his house, thinking that the victim also escaped, unknown to him that his friend was shot dead by the gunmen.” he said.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, said he was not aware of the killings at Ogida .
“I don’t know about the Ogida incident, what I know is what I will tell you.” he said.
