Four people on Wednesday died in a road accident that occurred when a trailer plunged into a stream near Rigachikun town along the Kaduna-Zaria highway.
The incident, which happened around 1am, involved a vehicle transporting electronic goods from Onitsha in Anambra State to Katsina State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander in Kaduna, Kabiru Nadabo, confirmed the accident, describing it as devastating.
Nadabo said the driver was speeding and possibly under the influence, which contributed to the crash.

He said the crash occurred in the night, and that it took approximately two hours for the vehicle to be discovered, with rescue efforts commencing in the morning using a crane.
Nadabo urged drivers to avoid night journeys whenever possible and to ensure they rest adequately before embarking on long trips.
