The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned four persons, Rawa Gbenga (25), Dada Blessing (26), Adeyemi Ayomide (30) and Ogunrinde Kayode (30), in a magistrates’ court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over alleged possession of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the suspects on August 23, in Ado-Ekiti, had illicit drugs in their possession contrary to Section 5(b) of the Indian Hemp Act LFN 2004 and Section 181 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

Counsel to the defendants, Barrister Ayorinde Busuyi, urged the court to grant them bail, and the Magistrate, A. Adeosun, granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to September 30.
