The police in Benue State have arrested four people for breaking into the deserted homes of flood victims and stealing their property in Makurdi.
Our correspondent reports that the suspects include two secondary school students, Terkaa Terhemen and Dagun Tavershima, both aged 16.

The police spokesperson in the state, SP Catherine Anene, told journalists that while the two teenagers were arrested behind Kucha Utebe, a suburb of Makurdi, after they broke into a flooded building, the duo of Nongo Aondosoo and Aondongu John, were arrested while trying to escape with stolen items in a canoe.
She further said that the teenagers were arrested with a mattress, a flat-screen television, a gas cylinder, pots and other household items.
