Detectives from the Lagos State Police Command have arrested four members of a syndicate, Samson Olusegun, Jimoh Iyanu, Opeyemi Akinloye and Hazimi Abdulakeem, that allegedly diverted and sold N36.7 million worth of powdered milk belonging to Friesland Campina.
Spokesman of the command, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the report, said the arrest was sequel to a complainant lodged at the command by one Emmanuel on March 13.
Hundeyin said that the complainant reported that on March 8, 2023, one Samson Olusegun, a truck driver attached to the company, was assigned to convey a 1/40ft container with Identity No: ACLU-9651677, loaded with 1,040 bags of blended solid milk worth about N60m.
He said the driver was specifically assigned to convey the consignment from the Apapa Tin Can Wharf to FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc at 7B Acme Road, Ogba Industrial Estate Ikeja, Lagos.

He further said, “However, Samson Olusegun conspired with his cohorts and diverted the truck with the goods to Coker Bus Stop along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, where Opeyemi Akinloye, Jimoh Iyanu and others trans-loaded the goods to another truck and thereafter sold 491 bags of the milk worth N36.7m to one Hazimi Abdulakeem who resides in the Iwagba area of Ogbomoso town, Oyo State.
“The sum of N6,550,000 has been recovered from the suspects so far. The case is still under investigation.”
