The four tipper lorry drivers abducted by gunmen in Kwara State have regained freedom.
The spokesman for the state police command, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed their release to our correspondent during a telephone chat on Thursday.
According to him, “Yes, they have been released but I cannot give you further details now except I get to the office because I am on transit coming from Patigi Local Government Area and the network is poor”
“But we are yet to make additional arrests from the two we already made and they are still under investigation”, he noted.

A family member who preferred anonymity had confirmed their release and the payment of an undisclosed sum of ransom.
It was gathered that their trucks developed battery issues on the site where they had gone to excavate sand in the outskirts of Ilorin and the drivers had gone to town to get a replacement when they were ambushed and kidnapped while returning to the site.
