The Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Henry Benamaisia, has disclosed that 38 persons died in 78 accidents in the state from July to October.
He explained that, “Edo State recorded 23 accidents in the month of July, seven died and 49 were injured. In August, 22 accidents were recorded, seven killed and 49 injured. In September, 15 accidents happened, 14 killed and 39 injured, while in October, 18 accidents were recorded, 10 died and 36 injured.”

Benamaisia attributed the accidents to traffic violations such as overspeeding, dangerous driving, route violation, driving under influence of alcohol, seatbelt violation and driving with worn-out tires.
