The operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Nasarawa State Command, have arrested a 35-year–old, Mr Ovye Yakubu, for allegedly killing his wife, Esther Aya, in the Sabonpegi-Shabu community of Lafia.
Confirming the incident to Daily Trust on Sunday in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital, the Police Public Relation Officer, ASP Ramhan Nansel, said the suspect was apprehended on Friday.

The police posited that investigation is ongoing at their State Criminal Investigation Department to find out the cause of the incident.
He, however, maintained that the corpse of the woman had been deposited at the morgue for a post mortem examination.
Our correspondent learnt that the accused beat his wife to death after an argument.
A source from the family who spoke to our correspondent on the condition of anonymity said the suspect started beating his wife for inviting a carpenter to work in the house.
According to the family source, “The deceased engaged the service of a carpenter to fix a net in their windows to prevent mosquitoes, but the husband stopped the carpenter, which the wife resisted, but the husband started beating her in the process.”
