34-yr-old-man arraigned over theft of N1.6m property

A 34-year-old man, Tonye Soberekon, was yesterday arraigned before an Ikeja magistrate court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing a car worth N1.6 million.

Soberekon was arraigned on a count charge of stealing one Toyota Camry, property of Enoke Samson Sammy.

The prosecutor, Sergeant M. Unah, told the court that the accused committed the offence at the Langbasa area of Lagos, off the Epe expressway, Ajah, Lagos, sometime in August this year.

Soberekon, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The presiding magistrate, Mr. A.A. Fashara, granted him bail of N200,000 with two sureties and adjourned the case till January 21, 2018.
