34 motorists bag 2-month jail term over traffic Offences

A Mobile Court in Sokoto State has sentenced 34 people to two months imprisonment with the option of N 30,000 fine for violating traffic laws.

This was contained in a statement signed by the spokesman of the Sector Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC),Sokoto Mr Aliyu Kanya.

The statement added that two other suspected traffic offenders were discharged and acquitted
Some of the charges against the suspects include overloading, driver’s licence violation and vehicles license violation among others.

‘ This is to inform the motoring public that the exercise is a continuous one and therefore call on them to desist from carrying and boarding overloaded vehicles, ‘the statement, added.

It further urged motorists to desist from driving without valid driver’s licence, as well as endeavour to register their vehicles with the Internal Revenue Board.
