Thirty-two suspects have been arrested during a raid on some criminal hideouts by operatives of the FCT Police Command in Abuja.
The Commissioner of Police (CP), Benneth Igweh, who disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday, said the coordinated raid was carried out at about 6pm on Wednesday.
He said operatives stormed some identified black spots and suspected criminal hideouts at Apo by Turabora, Angwan Tiv by Zone E Extension and Fish Market, as well as Apo Resettlement, Abuja.
He said some of the black spots served as points of hibernation for scavengers and other hoodlums, from where the 32 suspects, including two females, were arrested for crimes like peddling of illicit substances and erection of illegal structures and shanties.

- Bandits kill farmers for refusing to pay N200,000 in Kaduna
He further said, “The security operatives were able to dismantle the shanties and illegal structures erected by the suspects, while exhibits such as mobile phones reasonably suspected to have been stolen, dried leaves suspected to be marijuana and housebreaking tools were recovered from them.”
CP Igweh noted that the suspects would be screened and that those found culpable would be profiled and arraigned in court.
