31 promoted Customs officers decorated in Kaduna

A total of 31 personnel of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) have been decorated with their new ranks by the Zonal Co-ordinator, Nigeria Customs Service, Zone B, Headquarters, Kaduna, Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Bashir Abubakar.

Among the officers promoted across the zone and the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone B, were 16 Chief Superintendent Comptrollers (CSC) to the rank of Assistant Comptrollers (AC); 10 Assistant Comptrollers (AC) to Deputy Comptrollers (DC); and five Deputy Comptrollers (DC) to Comptrollers.

Addressing the promoted officers shortly after their decoration, ACG Abubakar advised them to work hard to justify their new ranks. He said: “Consider your promotion as a big challenge to you because to whom much is given, much is expected.

“There should be attitudinal change in terms of discipline. You should look at the promotion as a challenge and ask yourself the additional value you will render to the service.

“I noticed a lot of issues at the border when I went on border drill. I noticed that many of the people in the communities were not enlightened about import and export regulations.”
