A yet-to-be identified baby said to be about three years old has been found dead under the Oyun Bridge along the road leading to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital in Kwara State.
The incident, City & Crime gathered, happened after a heavy rain on Thursday.
The Commissioner of Environment in the state, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent, said the corpse was delayed for 48 hours before it was buried.
“The corpse should be about three years old and the way we saw it, it must have been flooded.

“But I told my staff to wait for 48 hours, which is our routine once we are alerted about any corpse.
“The other day, we buried the corpse of a woman only for the family to call a day after that they needed to exhume the corpse,” she added.
Buge urged parents and guardians to always be alert and conscious about the whereabouts of their children and wards, especially during the rains.
