3 women die in Ekiti auto crash

Three Anglican Church women lost their lives on Sunday in a ghastly motor accident that occurred at Afolu area after Ise Local Government Area in Ekiti State.

The deceased included Mrs. Adegbola, wife of a former chairman of Ise/Orun Local Government Area, Mrs. Ofeno and Mrs. Ekundayo, while others who sustained various degrees of injuries are receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

The Anglican Church’s 18- seater bus was said to be on its way to Ado-Ekiti for their annual enrolment service when the tragic accident happened.

Daily Trust gathered that one of the tyres of the bus got busted on motion and the driver lost control of the vehicle, which somersaulted several times on the road.

The women died on the spot.

The Anglican Bishop of Ekiti, Rt. Rev. Andrew Olusola Ajayi, commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives and the church in St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Ise-Ekiti and prayed to God to heal those injured.

Efforts to get police reaction from the PRO, Ekiti command, DSP Sunday Abutu, were not successful.
