The police in Niger State have arrested three men, Mohammed Abdullahi Chumo (30), Aliyu Salihu (20) and Arzika Ahmadu (25) over alleged rustling of 132 rams.
SP Wasiu Abiodun, the state’s police spokesman, said the suspects were arrested by in Zungeru in collaboration with vigilantes and that during interrogation they confessed to have conspired and rustled the 132 rams from two victims who were grazing in the Manigi area of Mashegu LGA.
He said the suspects were arrested when one of the victims sighted and identified Chumo at the Zungeru market with six of the rams while trying to sell them.
He explained that, “The victim raised alarm. The suspect was arrested and he led a police team to Jimi village where the other rams were kept, and where Aliyu and Arzika were also arrested.”
