A magistrates’ court sitting in Ogba, Lagos State, has ordered the remand of three suspected armed robbers in a correctional facility for allegedly applying hot balm to the faces and eyes of their victims before dispossessing them of their belongings.
The defendants, Tunde Dosumu (33), Shola Moses (50) and Amaechi Ugochukwu (46), were arrested on June 11, 2024, near the Murtala Muhammed International Airport following a series of reports to the police at the airport division about their activities.
The police said the gang drove around in a cab, pretending to carry passengers at the peak traffic hours, but ended up robbing them.
The prosecutor, SP Akeem Raji, alleged that the complainants said that the gang robbed them of their phones, bags, wallets, laptops, earrings, watches, among others.

The Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi, granted them bail with sureties and adjourned the case.
