3 remanded in prison for stealing

Three men have been arraigned before a Magistrate court sitting in Kano over alleged stealing of N15m.

The accused persons, Haruna Mohammed, Auwalu Abdulkadir, and Baban Lawal were charged for three-count charge of criminal conspiracy, breach of trust and cheating contrary to Sections 97, 312 and 322 of Penal Code Law.

The court heard that the case was reported to the police by the victim Alhaji Abdulkadir Isah, a resident of Gezawa local government.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Nura Mukhtar told the court that the accused criminally conspired among themselves and collected the sum of N15,000,000 from the victim under the pretext that they would bought 30 sites of antenna mass with service but failed to do so and instead converted the amount into personal use.

When the charge sheet was read to the accused they pleaded guilty to the three-count charge they were accused of.

The presiding Judge, Senior Magistrate Sunusi Usman Atana ordered that the accused person be remanded in police custody and adjourned the case to 6th November, 2018 for continuation.
