A magistrates’ court sitting in Ilọrin, the Kwara State capital, has ordered the remand of three suspects for allegedly killing a commercial motorcyclist and stealing his machine.
The suspects, Peter Samuel, Jeremiah Tiozina and Sunday Agbenke, were brought to the court for alleged criminal conspiracy, theft and unlawful possession/removal of human parts.
According to the police first information report, the incident happened at Asunnara village where the headless body of a young man was found in a pool of blood around 2am.
“Operatives later recovered the body and two android phones suspected to belong to the victim and one of the perpetrators at the river bank.
Investigation revealed that Samuel and Tiozina lured and employed the service of a motorcyclist, Raufu Akanno, tο convey them to the Olooru area to and fro for N10,000 with a deposit of N5,000.
On their way, Samuel asked the Akanno (now deceased) to stop, that his cap had fallen off, unknown to the motorcyclist that it was a plan to rob him of his motorcycle.
They subsequently hit him with a stick and his head cut off before they stole his Okada”, the sheet added.
Prosecutor Nasir Yusuf urged the court to remand the suspects.
In his ruling, Magistrate Saidu, who presided over the matter remanded them at Oke Kura, Federal Correctional Centre and adjourned to December 23, 2024.
