The Ebonyi State Police Command has lost three of its officers in a road accident.
Daily Trust gathered that the accident happened around 1.pm on Wednesday on the Abakaliki-Enugu Expressway and that 10 other officers who survived the crash are receiving treatment at the Alex-Ekwueme Teaching Hospital, Abakiliki.
The affected officers were among troops deployed to restore peace and order at the recent Effium communal clash.
The state’s Commissioner of Police (CP), Aliyu Garba, confirmed the story, saying, “Three of our officers died on their way back from Effium where they went to restore peace, while 10 others are in intensive unit of the hospital now.”
