No fewer than three persons have been reportedly killed in Kwata area of Kuru district in Jos South local government area of Plateau state following a renewed attack.

Daily Trust learnt that the killing occurred two days after an attack that led to death of two herders in same Kuru district of Jos South LG.

Among those alleged to have been killed are a pregnant woman, an Okada man and another adult male.

The Plateau state Chapter of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) alleged that three Fulanis were killed during the said attack.

The association through its Chairman, Muhammad Nuru Abdullahi, accused the Berom group of the alleged killing.

He added that the bodies of the deceased were recovered together with police officers of Bukuru (B) division.

He said, “The DPO of (B) division in Bukuru is much aware of everything. The state commissioner of police is also aware of the incident because we have spoken about the incident and asked me to calm down.

“They were all killed on Sunday but the bodies were recovered on Monday. Those killed included a pregnant woman and two men,” he said.

He explained that his people together with the police officers of Bukuru dug the deceased from where they were buried before giving them proper funeral prayer.

When contacted, the spokesperson of Berom Commumity, Davou Jatau denied the allegation of the killing by Berom youths.

He said, “I don’t think they were killed by Berom youth. I think it is purely an act of criminality.

“It’s never an ethinic killing. These days, I have been hearing of incidents of attacking people on motorcycles and stealing it, so, I don’t think the attack has ethnic colouration. But I would confirm.”

Aminu Amadu, husband of Aisha, the pregnant woman who was alleged to have been killed during the incident narrated how the incident occurred.

He said, “My wife left home yesterday at about 9am to Sabon Gidan Kanal to buy cow’s milk from the village. It has been her usual business to travel to the said area to buy milk and return to sell it in the town.

“Hours after she had left the house on Sunday. We began to think that all was not well with her because she stayed more than any other day. It was unusual.

“Myself and a brother, Ibrahim Aminu, quickly went out in search of her whereabout.”

He added that they went to the vigilante chairman of Gero area and reported the issue to him who thereafter located the area where his wife and two men were killed and buried.

He further said that the vigilante chairman also identified the perpetrators of the act and eight of them have been arrested by the police in Bukuru.

When contacted on the incident via telephone call the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), DSP Tyopev Terna, didn’t answer the calls.

Mr Terna also didn’t reply text messages sent to him by Daily Trust’s reporter.
