3 nabbed for stealing wedding rings, others in Ogun

Operatives of the Ogun State-owned security outfit, So-Safe Corps, have arrested three suspects for robbing residents of Onibudo town in Ifo Local Government Area.

They were apprehended following a distress call received by the operatives of the corps at Adiyan-Alausa Onibudo Division in Ifo.

According to a statement by the So-Safe Corps spokesman, Moruf Yusuf, a victim reported to the corps “how he was robbed of his belongings on Mercy Avenue, Onibudo, on Saturday, September 17, 2022.”

He said one of the suspects, 23-year-old Opeoluwa Alade Sunday, was nabbed after covert security activities of the corps.

Yusuf disclosed that Sunday confessed to the crime and later led the corps men to Anthony Garden Hotel near Doland Bus Stop where the culprits were hibernating.

He said two other suspects in connection with the robbery case, Stanley and Hammed Isiaka, alias Jack Omo Baala, were apprehended.

Yusuf further said, “The corps is working to get the rest of the culprits at large as those arrested have confessed they do keep their guns with them.

“The culprits also confessed that on the 19th of September, a member of their team called Osun killed a boy at Abe Igi area; a matter presently with the police.

“The three suspects and the exhibits found with them – three laptops, two wedding rings, one wristwatch and 32 yards of ankara fabric – have been transferred to the police at Ajuwon Division.”
