3 killed in Bauchi armed robbery

Bauchi State Police Commissioner, Mohammed Ladan stated this yesterday while briefing newsmen in Bauchi.

He said that two suspected the armed robbers were killed during exchange of fire between the robbers and the police in collaboration with the vigilantes.

In the process, one Ibrahim Mato was seriously injured by the robbers and he was rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital where he died while receiving treatment.

Ladan stated that the police arrested one suspect in connection with the attack adding that  the command also recovered one AK47 riffle, 81 live ammunitions of Ak47 rifle, one Magazine of AK 4z rifle, four expended AK 47 rifle ammunitions, two cell phone and a Suzuki motorcycle with registration number OC 847 BNJ used by the hoodlums during the attack.

He stated that when the armed robbers stormed the village, they robbed and carted away the sum of N900,000 belonging to Alhaji Musa Bagu after they attacked him in his shop.

The commissioner added that the attack was however foiled when policemen pursued the hoodlums to nearby bush.

“The police had succeeded in arresting one Illiya Nando of Warji LGA of Bauchi State with a bullet wound in his palm. He is believed to be among the attackers. The suspect was arrested with one AK47 rifle No. BH.5912.”

In a similar development, the Bauchi State Police Command has arrested four suspects in possession of fake currency.

Police Commissioner, Mohammed Ladan said, “ 73 pieces of N1,000 fake notes were  recovered from one of the suspects, Abdulahi Musa. The suspect could not give satisfactory account of how he got them. All the suspects will be charged to court to face the music after investigations.”
