Three people were reportedly killed and four suspects arrested as political thugs set the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) campaign secretariat ablaze in Tudun Wada LGA of Kano State on Sunday.
Police spokesman in the state, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed this to newsmen, saying that another set of thugs also attacked INEC’s office in Takai LGA.
He said, “Two persons in a stationary vehicle inside the building of the campaign office of the House of Representatives candidate of NNPP were burnt to death.
“Also, the building of Tudun Wada LGA INEC office was attempted to be set ablaze when a group of thugs mobilised themselves in large numbers and attacked. This was when a group of thugs went on rampage on the same date while the collation of results was ongoing.

“The hoodlums again mobilised and attempted to block the access road leading to INEC’s office but immediate mobilisation of security personnel to the scene averted another trauma.
“One of the thugs who was injured was rushed to the hospital where he died while receiving treatment. Four other suspected thugs were arrested.”
