Daily Trust gathered that the bombers, a female and male, were in a bus parked along Kashere Street close to the venue of the rally which took place at Pantami Stadium.
Workers at the Gombe Specialist Hospital said they received three corpses and 18 injured people. The casualty figure could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
After the explosion, a mob began to remove posters and bill boards of Governor Dankwambo and President Jonathan, burning and vandalising vehicles. A bus belonging to the correspondent’s chapel was also attacked and some journalists sustained minor injuries.
All roads leading to the venue of the rally were closed. The blast came less than 24 hours after twin bombs exploded at the Timber market and old market on Sunday, killing five people and wounding 18 others.
