It was gathered that the bandits shot sporadically during the incident to scare the residents while the policemen could not come to their rescue till the end of the operation.

The bandits were said to have come in their numbers with AK 47, magazine and rocket launcher.

Confirming the incident, Katcha LGA chairman, Alhaji Mohammad Baba Nna, in a telephone interview, said, “The incident happened around 1 am and lasted for three good hours. They went away with three persons who are businessmen in the town and we are yet to hear from them.

“They came with very sophisticated weapons and I am sure that’s why the policemen were afraid of coming to their rescue during the incident.”
