Three traders have reportedly lost their lives in a brawl between Nigerian Air Force (NAF) officers and urchins in Lagos.
Many others were said to have sustained various degrees of injuries in the fracas, which occurred at the popular Ladipo spare parts market in Mushin, Lagos, on Tuesday.
The crisis also forced traders in the market to shut their businesses.
The cause of the fracas could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
Witnesses said a combined team of soldiers and anti-riot policemen had since been deployed to quell the crisis.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, did not respond to calls and text messages seeking confirmation.
The phone line of the state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, was not reachable when our reporter put a call through it.
