Narrating her ordeal in a viral video on social media, Bilkisu, the baby’s mother, who has two other children, said she met Amina during antenatal at the Yusuf Dan Tsoho Hospital in Tudan Wada area of the state.

“On Wednesday, a day after I gave birth, I called her to inform her that I had given birth to a baby boy. So on Thursday, she came to my house saying her husband dropped her on the road and she walked the rest of the way. It was then that she informed me about the death of her child; she spent the whole day with me and left little after 8pm.

“The next day, she arrived at my house before 7am and told me that her husband was going to Abuja, so he dropped her. I told her that I have no milk and she offered to buy it for me. I gave her N1000. She then suggested that she go with the baby since I was going to take my bath and asked me to help her back the child so he does not fall.

“While I was in the bathroom, she bade farewell to me. Since then, I have not seen the woman and my baby. We have been calling her numbers to no avail.”

She described the woman as a dark, fat lady in her late 20’s with tribal marks on her face.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige said the case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for investigation.
