The police in Ekiti State have arraigned a man and two women, Kolade Ayodele (52), Damilola Timothy (33) and Mercy Omotosho (24), respectively in a magistrates’ court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over alleged theft of flour, sugar and other items worth over N20 million.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the suspects and others at large on May 31, at the Steleq Mall in Ado-Ekiti broke into the shop of one Alabi Olanrewaju and stole the items contrary to Section 421, 324, 302(1)(a), 343(2)(a)(b) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State 2021.
Counsels to the defendants, Aduni Olanipekun, A. O. Adebisi and Kayode Opeyemi, urged the court to grant their clients bail, arguing that it was their constitutional right.

The Magistrate, A. O. Owolabi, granted bail of N4m to each with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to August 6.
