The police in Ekiti State have arraigned three persons at the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged assault and conduct likely to cause breach of peace in the society.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants, Samuel Tosin, 36, Adekolu Opeyemi, 20, and Adekolu Omolara, 34, conspired to commit the offences.
Inspector Oriyomi said on or about December 16 at Ado-Ekiti Magisterial District, the defendants unlawfully assaulted one Anuoluwapo Ajibola Deborah by jointly beating her and caused severe injuries on her body.
The prosecutor noted that the offence committed was contrary to and punishable under Section 421, 186, 181(1)(d) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State 2021.

Counsel to the defendants, Barrister Opeyemi Esan, urges the court to admit the defendants to bail, which magistrate Abayomi Adeosun, granted in the sum of N50,000 with one surety each in like sum and adjourned the matter to January 23, for hearing.
