3 bodies recovered from Bauchi river following road crash

Three corpses have been recovered from a river in Gadan Tilde along Bauchi-Jos Road in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State following an accident involving a commercial vehicle on Friday.

Mr Yusuf Abdullahi, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Bauchi, told NAN that a search in the river was ongoing to ascertain the exact number of victims of the crash.

He explained that the accident occurred on Friday morning around 1.am after the driver of the green commercial Opel Vectra with registration number JNN 348 NC lost control and plunged into the river.

Abdullahi who identified the driver as one Ahmad Ali, said, “We have not yet confirmed the total number of people involved. A search is still ongoing in the river and all the recovered deceased have been buried.”
