The Taraba State police spokesman, DSP David Misal, has revealed that three persons have been arrested in connection with the killing of the Chairman of Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of Taraba State, Hon Salihu Dovo, and his nephew, Timothy Aminu.
DSP Misal said the gunmen suspected to be kidnappers invaded the deceased’s residence at the Sabon-Gari area of Jalingo at about 1am on Sunday and shot sporadically for over 30 minutes before abducting the council boss.

DSP Misal said the gunmen took away the chairman and crossed River Lamurde at the border between Jalingo and Ardo-Kola LGAs.
He further stated that vigilantes and policemen trailed the gunmen and that the gunmen then shot the victim on noticing they could not escape with him and dumped his corpse in Nahuta village across the River Lamurde.
He said Aminu, a nephew of the chairman, who attempted to prevent the abduction of the council boss, was also killed.
The police spokesperson explained that, “We have arrested three suspects and I can assure you that the killers of the council boss and his nephew would be brought to book.”
