It was learnt that while they were drinking, the suspects sighted a member of a rival cult group drinking with some friends in the same bar.
A source said the suspects then attempted to eliminate their rival cult member but that the hotel’s management raised an alarm.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, who confirmed the arrest, said items recovered from them included two Berretta pistols, two locally made pistols, one revolver pistol, 11 live ammunition, 11 cartridges and one Toyota Camry car with registration number: GGE 54 GK.
Mr Alabi said, “The suspects, on January 15, 2022, attacked innocent victims at a hotel in Agbara part of the state and inflicted varying degrees of injury on them.
“On receipt of the report by the command, operatives of the special anti-cultism unit were directed to clamp down on the cult groups.
“An intensive investigation carried out by the squad led to the arrest of three of the cult members and recovery of different types of arms and ammunition.”
