The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) said it has arrested three persons who allegedly belong to a syndicate involved in forgery, extortion and counterfeiting the Nigeria Police Character Certificate.
The spokesperson of the Federal Criminal Investigation Department, Alagbon Lagos, ASP Aminat Mayegun, while parading the suspects in Ikoyi, said that a sting operation was launched on November 16, 2023, with a view to bursting the criminal network.
She explained that the operation became expedient following the receipt of a report from a victim who presented such counterfeited document for the processing of her visa at the UK Embassy.
According to her, upon being identified as fake, the applicant was refused the visa and banned from entering the country for 10 years.

She said that suspects: Chinedu Agbosim, owned the shop where they operated; while Mariam Dauda and Ebighose Anderson were the computer operators recruited by Chinedu.
