Three abducted victims which comprised a woman, daughter and a resident were rescued after a joint security team engaged their abductors at their hideout at Gudunkarya forest that bordering the FCT and Nasarawa state.
City & Crime had reported that the gunmen, in the wee hours of Wednesday, invaded Alhaji Gwandara settlement at Dafara in Kuje Area Council and whisked away a woman, her daughter and a resident at gunpoint.
A relation of the victims, Modu Alkali, confirmed the rescue of the victims through telephone to our reporter on Thursday.
He said the joint security team, which he said consisted of soldiers, police anti -kidnap team, hunters and vigilantes stormed the kidnappers’ camp and exchanged fire with them which, he said, led to the rescue of the victims.
He said, “After a heavy shootout with a joint security team, the kidnappers fled and abandoned the victims.”
The chairman of the Miyyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the FCT, Alhaji Ibrahim Ardo, confirmed the rescue of the victims to our reporter.
He appreciated the joint security team for their gallant efforts to rescue the victims unhurt.
