2nd republic Kaduna deputy gov dies at 74

A former deputy governor of defunct Kaduna State during the Second Republic, Alhaji Mu’azu Aliyu Ahmed, has died. He was 74.

Late Mu’azu served as deputy governor during the administration of Alhaji Abba Rimi between 1981 and 1983.

His younger brother and a former director with Kaduna State Library Board, Alhaji Yakubu Aliyu told Daily Trust that the late Mu’azu died last Wednesday after a brief illness in Kaduna. He described late Alhaji Mu’azu as a disciplinarian and a man of integrity.

He said Alhaji Mu’azu had been buried according to Islamic rites.
