Legendary Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2baba has planted a smile on the faces of the students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, especially those studying music-related courses.

The singer via his verified Instagram account posted a video which he used to announce to his 7.1m followers that he has launched a multimillion naira studio for the music department in OAU Ile-Ife.

He further revealed that the next tertiary institution he would open another studio would be at the Benue State University.

2baba captioned the video snippet which showed the opening of the studio as, “Some time ago I was honoured by the Great OAU as I was inducted into the school of music as A Fellow Of The School of music.

“Today, I just commissioned the multimillion # studio I built for the music department in OAU Ile-Ife. Up next is Benue State University.”(sic)

In March 2019, the Nigerian music icon was conferred with the award of the Fellow of the school of music by the Department of Music, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.

The singer, songwriter, record producer and entrepreneur became the pioneer recipient of the award which was presented to him at the department’s first public lecture and fellowship award.
