Twenty-nine candidates are contesting in today’s governorship election in Nasarawa state.
While Engr. Abdullahi Alhaji Sule is the candidate of the APC, David Ombugadu is the youthful guber candidate of the PDP, who once won election to the House of Representative at the age of 34 under the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) but later decamped to the PDP.
Another major candidate is Labaran Maku of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), a former Deputy Governor and minister of Information, who’s contesting for the second consecutive time under the same party.
Also, Umar Aliyu Doma, who is the son of the former and late governor of the state, Aliyu Akwe Doma, is contesting under the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
However, one of the youngest candidates is a 28 years old graduate, Ahmed Bello, who is contesting under RBNP.
