28,137 obtain credits in maths, English, 3 others in NABTEB exam

The Registrar of the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB), Prof. Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe, has disclosed that 28,137 candidates scored five credits and above in different subjects, including mathematics and English Language in the November/December examination of the board.

Prof. Isiugo-Abanihe disclosed this while announcing the result of NABTEB’s ordinary and advanced craft certificate examinations in Benin, Edo State.

She said the figures represent 71,27 per cent of the candidates, who sat for the examinations.

She said, “A total of 37,476 candidates obtained five credits and above with or without English Language and mathematics, representing 94.93 of the candidates who sat for the examinations.”

Isiugo-Abanihe explained that 43,594 candidates consisting of 26,004 males and 17,590 females registered for the examinations in the 1,746 centres across the country.

She further disclosed that the board has commenced the electronic process of issuing certificates to candidates online, adding that the board has also made available electronic certificates of previous examinations conducted by the board.

The registrar also disclosed that about 246 candidates who sat for the examination were caught in malpractice during the examination.
