Speaking at the event in Kano, chairman of Etisalat Nigeria, Mr Hakeem Belo-Osagie said the scholarships were offered to the best students in the various disciplines identified by the company.
He said the 27 students were chosen from Bayero University Kano, Kaduna State University, Kaduna and Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
According to him, the students were in the fields of Electrical Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Management Sciences.
He said more students from institutions from the different geo-political zones of the country would soon be given scholarships
The ceremony was graced by the Deputy Governor of Kano State who represented the Governor, the Turakin Kano Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero who represented the Emir of Kano, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, members of the governor’s cabinet as well as prominent citizens of Kano State.
