The Edo State Police Command has arrested 26 irregular migrants from Cameroon and Burkina Faso.
It was gathered that the suspects were arrested in Afowa in Uzairue Etsako West LGA.
City & Crime reports that the migrants comprised of 16 males and eight females from Cameroon, one male and one female from Burkina Faso.
The command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, said the suspects were arrested on November 9, following credible information.

He said the police at Jattu Division received information that some persons were seen gathering in a certain compound hence operatives stormed the place and arrested the suspects.
He explained that, “During interrogation, they could not effectively express themselves in the English Language, but the little they could was to identify their own countries.
“Following preliminary investigation, they confessed that a certain young man brought them into the country through Cameroon and the Northern border.
Chidi said they would be handed over to criminal investigation department for proper profiling and thereafter handed over to the Nigeria Immigration Service.
